Mortgage rates will continue to fall for the month but will most likely edge up after the end of the year. Sales will be good for December, and even though next year might start a little slower than normal, we expect the total for 2024 to be similar to 2023. Prices may slip in December, and regardless of media rhetoric about buyer affordability, prices will either be flat or increase slightly in 2024. The Sioux Empire economy is solid with strong housing demand driven by population growth; it’s in contrast to the national market. We expect mortgage rates to stay in the 6% range for next year.
