The start of a new year can be an intriguing psychological event. We began with a dream and good intentions, and depending on our perception, we are either excited or disappointed with our accomplishments for the past year.
Misfortune appears, when a dream, without clear vision and a committed action plan, falls empty on the wish list shelf of things to do someday.
Visualizing what we want is vital. The more clarity we have, the easier it is to create a path and form steps to follow. Our focus is stronger. For many of us, we accept the premise of what we think about most is what we get. It initiates a self-fulfulling prophecy.
When our vision is clouded, we slip off track or relinquish commitment, and disappointment settles in. We lose confidence, and eventually give up.
Protecting our confidence is paramount. We must count every success, dismissing failures. Focus on obtaining the goal, and don’t allow a negative thought to prevail. Celebrate your accomplishments, regardless of how much or how little they are.
Our best life starts with dreams. What do you want if you can have anything? In our world of real estate, our clients think about living in a house that fits their lifestyle perfectly.
We begin by asking them for a vision of what that might look like, and why that is important, looking for the best clarity possible. We create a plan, implement action, and review constantly to make sure we are on track for a great outcome.
It’s not so much about the features, although most people start there. Your lifestyle is the primary focus. “How do you live, why do you want what you want, and what’s the payoff for getting what you want?”
Ultimately, “how will the house satisfy your primary principle or value system?”
This applies to everything we dream, whether it’s a spouse, family, house, car, job, accomplishment, or whatever. Dream it, visualize it, find a motivating value/principle, create a path, and go into action.
